I recently had a conversation with an old friend.
It had been a few years since we last talked.
She made a statement that I wanted to explore.
She said to my wife and me, “I can’t believe you made the changes. Things were Good! You had a good job! A good life! Taking Vacations!”
It actually reminded me of this show my wife and I watched called “The Good Place”. The Premise: When you die, you go to a “Good Place” or “Bad Place”. In the Good Place you get everything you want, and everyone is happy. The Bad Place is full of torture and discomfort.
The main character Eleanor finds herself in the afterlife. In The Good Place…

At the end of the first season, she figures out. She and her neighbors are in an experimental part of the “Bad Place”. That appears like the Good Place instead of physical torture it was intended to inflict mental and emotional torture.
I don’t judge my friend for saying it. It appeared that we were in a “Good Place”.
Take a moment and ask yourself. Are you in a “Good Place”? The one before the afterlife.
Or does it just seem like “The Good Place”.
I won’t repeat the story of my journey but when my flame came back. I realized I was in the simulated Good Place.
I was building a dream. Not Mine!
I was alive. Not Living!
I was not living my purpose.
I made some changes. I did the work and came out the other side.
Some of my friends and family noticed my changes and asked me to help them.
I taught them what I learned over the last 3 years. I noticed there was a pattern.
I will share these 3 steps with you:
Step 1: Take a Good Look on the inside:
● What do you value most? Write it down
● What is a Perfect Day? Write it down
● What impact do you want to make on the world? Write it down…
Step 2: Look at your current life:
● Does it match up to your Dream life
● What things need to change? Write it down.
Step 3: Make a change:
● Pick one thing that needs to change. write it down
● Think about the steps need to achieve the change Write it down
● Start doing the steps write down your progress
Follow these 3 steps and you are well on your way to your Real Good Place.
